Il y a des voix qu’on n’oublie pas. Un refrain qui ramène un été, une chanson qui a traversé une cuisine, un band qui a marqué un quartier. Mémoire souveraine, c’est la reconnaissance que le public écrit. Sa devise : la voix qui demeure.
Vous connaissez un·e artiste, un groupe, une voix d’ici qui mérite d’être gardé·e en mémoire? Proposez-le. Si la mémoire collective parle assez fort, le Panthéon l’inscrit.

Ce qui fait une bonne proposition

Une nomination, ce n’est pas un vote — c’est un témoignage. Dites-nous :
  • Qui : le nom de l'artiste ou du groupe.
  • Pourquoi : en quelques phrases, ce qu'il ou elle a apporté à la musique d'ici. Une œuvre, une chanson, une époque, une trace.
  • Votre souvenir : ce que cette musique représente pour vous. C'est ça, le cœur de Mémoire souveraine.

Ce qui se passe ensuite

Chaque proposition est lue par notre comité. Quand une voix rassemble assez de mémoire, l’artiste reçoit la reconnaissance Mémoire souveraine : une distinction permanente, signée et vérifiable, accompagnée du témoignage du public.
Par respect, tout·e artiste — ou sa succession — peut en tout temps demander à se retirer. On honore, on ne dérange jamais.

Sovereign Memory

Nominate an artist
Some voices you never forget. A chorus that brings back a summer, a song that crossed a kitchen, a band that marked a neighbourhood. Sovereign Memory is the recognition written by the public. Its motto: the voice that endures.
Do you know an artist, a band, a voice from here that deserves to be kept in memory? Nominate them. If collective memory speaks loudly enough, the Panthéon records it.

What makes a good nomination

A nomination isn’t a vote — it’s a testimony. Tell us:
  • Who: the name of the artist or band.
  • Why: in a few sentences, what they brought to the music of Québec. A work, a song, an era, a mark.
  • Your memory: what this music means to you. That's the heart of Sovereign Memory.

What happens next

Every nomination is read by our committee. When a voice gathers enough memory, the artist receives the Sovereign Memory recognition: a permanent, signed, verifiable distinction, accompanied by the public’s testimony.
Out of respect, any artist — or their estate — may ask to be removed at any time. We honour; we never intrude.
